What happened here
3The vision of the man of Macedonia
Kept by the Spirit from speaking in Asia and from entering Bithynia, the travelers came down to Troas. There Paul saw a vision of a man of Macedonia begging him to come and help, and they set out at once.
Companions waiting at Troas
Acts names those who accompanied Paul as far as Asia: Sopater of Beroea, Aristarchus and Secundus of the Thessalonians, Gaius of Derbe, Timothy, and Tychicus and Trophimus of Asia. They had gone ahead and were waiting at Troas, where Paul’s party joined them and stayed seven days.
Acts does not say where these companions joined Paul or which way they traveled to Troas.
Eutychus falls from the window
As Paul talked until midnight, a young man named Eutychus fell asleep and fell from the third story and was taken up dead. Paul embraced him, and the young man was brought in alive.
