What happened here
1Healings at Gennesaret
After crossing the lake, Jesus and his disciples came to land at Gennesaret. People recognized him and brought the sick from all that region; wherever he went, in villages, cities or the country, they laid the sick in the marketplaces and begged to touch the fringe of his garment, and all who touched him were made well.
Mark says they came to land at Gennesaret and moored to the shore, and that the sick were brought to Jesus wherever he went in that region; Matthew speaks of the land of Gennesaret. The marker is a representative point for Gennesaret.

Location certainty
A district rather than a single site: Gennesaret is usually taken to be the small plain (el-Ghuweir) on the north-west shore of the lake, just north of Magdala. The marker is OpenBible.info’s representative point for the plain. Luke calls the lake itself the lake of Gennesaret (Luke 5:1).
