What happened here
2Blind Bartimaeus
As Jesus left Jericho, a blind beggar named Bartimaeus kept calling out to him as the son of David. Jesus called him over, and he received his sight and followed Jesus on the way.
Mark and Matthew set this as Jesus was leaving Jericho, and Matthew tells of two blind men (Matthew 20:29–34); Luke sets it as Jesus came near Jericho (Luke 18:35).
Zacchaeus the tax collector
In Jericho, Zacchaeus, a rich chief tax collector, climbed a sycamore tree to see Jesus. Jesus stayed at his house, and Zacchaeus said that he gives half his goods to the poor and restores fourfold anything he has wrongfully taken.
